About Wilder Folk
Welcome! I'm Jessee Weavel, a proud member of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians. Like many Americans, my heritage is a beautiful blend of cultures, including Scottish, Irish, and Danish roots. Based in Tahlequah, OK, I own and operate Wilder Folk, LLC, a screen printing and embroidery business where tradition meets creativity.
My artistic journey began in childhood, deeply influenced by the Cherokee culture and the natural beauty of the Illinois River. Traditional Native American beadwork was one of my first loves, and I've continued to weave this intricate craft into my business and art.
At Wilder Folk, LLC, I work with a variety of mediums, blending modern techniques with natural elements like driftwood, antlers, and animal skulls. By incorporating these materials, I aim to honor the land and my cultural heritage in every piece I create.
My passion lies in merging the old with the new, celebrating the rich tapestry of my ancestry through unique, handcrafted works of art. Thank you for visiting, and I hope our creations resonate with you, as each piece tells a story of heritage, nature, and personal journey.
